Anne Woodward

I am one of three daughters born to a Huddersfield photographer. I studied for the National Diploma in Design at Huddersfield School of Art and then took the Art Teachers Diploma at Manchester College of Art. For the next 30 years I taught Art in a number of secondary schools in Surrey, most time of which I worked with pottery as Head of the Art Department.

On my retirement I began to paint again and discovered the pleasures of watercolours. My husband and I loved to travel and my paintings reflect some of the beautiful places that we have visited together. I hope that they capture something of the atmosphere, colour and light of these different countries.

We moved to Marple from Surrey in 2001 and I joined both Marple and Disley Art Societies. I exhibit on an annual basis with both societies and a number of local galleries have also shown my work. I hope that you enjoy looking at my paintings and that for a short while you can feel yourself to be in the Mediterranean sunshine.
