Artist Profile - Kaite Helps

Born in Bristol, Kaite studied Fine Art at the University of Plymouth where she earned a First Class Honours Degree. Kaite is now Gallery Director at Marburae Art Gallery in Macclesfield. Kaite s work is inspired by travels in India and South East Asia. Her paintings are a personal perception of the cultures and variety of the region. Kaite draws on the colours, patterns, and architecture from various cultures and religions allowing her to recreate the richness and atmospheres of such diverse and different places. Kaite creates her own watercolours from spices and powders bought from various parts of the world.

Kaite works predominantly with Saffron but also uses many more pigments such as Turmeric, Indigo and Vermillion Powder. Kaite s work is in private collections across Europe and has been exhibited in India and in major cities across the UK.
